geometric abstraction – space

Geometric abstraction. The space acts as a stage. An event is implied here, or a future one is anticipated. This evokes feelings of solitude, memory, or suspension. It shows the quiet history found in architecture.

Abstraction always fascinated me. It is an art of seeing less. When rendered photographically, the planes and angles of the room often become simplified graphic elements. A chair or a window; I see the lines, shadows, and textures that most people miss. This change pushes the image toward geometric abstraction. The focus moves from the room’s purpose to its visual mathematics.
